Bradman
Scrapbooks IndexThe material in the scrapbooks was collected by Sir Donald Bradman and his family throughout his playing career. From 1967 to 1972 a joint project was undertaken between Sir Donald and the State Library of South Australia to copy this material and place it into 52 green leather bound scrapbooks made by the Library's Bindery. A copy of the scrapbooks was later presented to the National Library of Australia.
Each volume of the scrapbooks holds between 114 and 400 pages, and for this website Library staff have selected approximately 16 pages from each scrapbook for digitising. The selections cover the important events in Sir Donald's cricketing career, as well as giving a picture of the other activities associated with playing cricket in Australia and overseas off the field. The selections also include a sample of the material in various formats, such as newspaper clippings, photographs, letters and telegrams.
