CAROLINE 1839


This ship visited Adelaide twice during 1839. The first time was on March 20th - from Hobart, Tasmania.
It seems probable that this is the same vessel that departed London on June 28th, 1839 via Plymouth
with Captain John Williams and 118 passengers, and arrived at Port Adelaide on 17-12-1839

Samuel Thomas Gill, son of Reverand Samuel Gill, became famous for his sketches of the happenings on the Victorian Goldfields
