HERMAN VON BECKERATH 1847

sailed from Bremen with Captain Kahle via South America, calling at Rio de Janeiro. Many of the passengers took the opportunity to visit this lovely place, and take on fresh supplies.
They arrived at Adelaide on December 15th 1847 - the journey occupying nearly five months.
Unfortunately a complete list of the passengers is no longer available.





For all his research
and discoveries,
Ferdinand Von Muller
received several honours,
including the knighthood
of the Legion of Honour
conferred on him
>by the Emperor Napoleon.

In 1871 he was made an
hereditary baron by the
King of Wurtemberg, and
in 1879 was created KCMG
by Queen Victoria.
He died in 1896.
