SHIPPING LINKS, SOURCES and ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I'm sure you appreciate just how much work has gone into creating this CD.
Transcribing almost 3000 passenger lists to create a database of nearly 60,000 families,
then to create graphics of all the lists and webpages has taken many many hours or work.
Without the help of the following, this project may never have been completed.

Special thanks to: my husband Ken and family, Malcolm Frost, Peter Lawson, The Dead Persons Society, Cyndi's List,
Ron Parsons, Barry Leadbetter, Robert D Blair, Brad Collins, Robert Janmaat, Sue Swiggum, Graham Jaunay, Sue Woods
and all SAGEN Listers and every researcher who likes to hear these words - THANK YOU.

1852 ONWARDS: I'm sure you can understand the immense amount of work to be done for the next stage of this project.
Unfortunately I have to bow out (strict orders from my family).

I have quite a lot of lists from 1852 to 1866 and am willing to pass them on to anyone willing to take up the challenge.
Someone will - maybe you. If so - please email me (see bottom of this page)

NEW SOUTH WALES:

Ships docking at Australian ports were required to lodge a list of their crew with local customs authorities. It was not unusual for crew lists to be deposited with passenger lists.

The Australian Government organised a Work for the Dole program, where participants created a new National Archives database of migrant passenger lists containing 130,000 names of migrants who came to Australia by ship between 1926 and 1928. The new database can be found at www.naa.gov.au - click on RECORD SEARCH, then search as a guest or registered user and click on passenger index at the top of the screen. The database is certain to be welcomed by researchers and family historians eager to trace their heritage. KEN BLAIR'S LINKS to records of immigration to Australia and New Zealand.

Note: The contents of these pages are the combined work of many people and whilst we aim for accuracy in all we do, remember Murphy's Law.
Should you discover your family name or similar on these lists, remember this - many of the names on Passenger lists were written as the writer heard them,
and many of the passengers were unable to read or spell their own names.
