Figurehead of the Mozambique

The Mozambique was a wooden barque built in 1832 at New Brunswick. On 19 August 1854 she was wrecked in bad weather in the Coorong, near the mouth of the River Murray. All passengers and crew survived the wreck, but one man died later from injuries. The figurehead of the Mozambique has been restored and can now be seen at the Goolwa Hotel.
