State Library of South Australia

Copyright signage

The State Library supports and upholds the rights of copyright owners as laid down in the Copyright Act 1968. The State Library displays the mandated signs found in Schedules 3 and 9 of the Copyright Regulations 1969.

The Schedule 3 sign is prominently displayed on or near public equipment, including photocopiers and computers, that library customers might use to copy 'works' and 'published editions'.

The Schedule 9 sign is prominently displayed on or near all equipment such as computers and video recorders that library customers might use to copy audio-visual items.

These notices generally limit the State Library's exposure to liability under the Copyright Act 1968 for copyright infringement by users of publicly accessible copying equipment.
