Put on your explorer vest and discover the treasures, stories and spaces of your State Library.

Suitability: Kindy to year 2
Duration: 2 hours
Capacity: up to 30 students
Supervision: 1:6
Days: Monday | Tuesday

Do you know what the State Library is all about? Experience an interactive exploration of the treasures, stories and spaces of the State Library.

Your visit concludes in the beautiful Mortlock Chamber where we will share some stories by South Australian authors and illustrators.

Key inquiry questions

  • How can stories of the past be shared?
  • How is the past different from the present?
  • How is the past the same as the present?

Teaching for Effective Learning principles strongly underpin this learning experience, which is aligned with the Australian Curriculum, with a particular emphasis on the learning area of:

  • Humanities and Social Sciences: History and Geography and the general capabilities of literacy, intercultural understanding and creative thinking.

Tools and materials are provided free of charge by the State Library of South Australia.
