Designed for students in tertiary education

Learning programs at the State Library are designed to be linked to key learning outcomes and complement the current Australian Curriculum. These programs have been created to connect learners with the rich history, collections, spaces and exhibitions of the State Library of South Australia.

Learners will discover the stories of South Australia and the role of the State Library in collecting, preserving and sharing the history of South Australia and develop important life skills or research, inquiry and analysis techniques using a variety of sources.

Mortlock Wing of the State Library of South Australia

Date: 29 January 2019 to 12 April 2019

Time: 10 to 11.30am

Location: Meet in the ground floor glass foyer

Note: Free, bookings essential, school groups

The program will introduce students to the State Library's services, resources and collections. It will include a tour of Mortlock Wing (where possible), a demonstration of the library';s on-line catalogue and, if requested, alert them to our databases. A walk around the library will familiarise learners with the spaces and layout and will include a focus on any area or service you highlight when you book.

Suitability: years 8 to 12, Tertiary & TAFE
up to 1.5 hours
Days: Monday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday
Capacity: up to 30 students/ people
Supervision: 1:15
Facilitator: Education Librarian
