Woomera: Reaching For The Stars (Opportunity 4)

Date: 12 September 2017 to 10 November 2017

Time: 10am to 11.15am

Location: Meet in the State Library forecourt

Note: Free, but bookings essential

Enhancing their digital skills using iPads, students will search the Library collections for resources that relate to Woomera, space exploration, and climate. Using these items and working in pairs they will create posters with the Glogster app.

Suitability: years 5 to 7
Cost: free
Duration: 75 minutes
Days: Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday
Capacity: Class of 30 students maximum
Supervision: 1:6
Facilitator: Education Librarian

The session begins with a 30 minute self-guided experience of the 'From Outback to Outer Space: Woomera 1955 - 1980' exhibition using closer looking experience cards.

Students will then engage their digital literacy skills to create a digital poster using the Glogster App on iPads in the Bronwyn Halliday Learning Studio.
Students will source Woomera and space -related materials from the Library's collections to build their online posters.
