State Library of South Australia

Service points

There are several service points within the library where you can get assistance from staff. These are all on Level 1 of the Spence Wing.

Copy Centre

Provides some on-the-spot copying as well as more complex copying of library materials. You can access the Copy Centre from the Level 1 foyer without having to leave your bags at the Security Desk. For more information see Copying and publishing.

Family History

Is staffed weekdays from 10.00am - 5pm, to assist with microform use and use of the family history resources. You can get help from the Information Desk when the Family History area is not staffed.

Information Desk

Provides an information and reference service for general enquiries, including family history. This service is backed up by Collection Specialists and Research Services staff where required.

Security Desk

Provides a cloaking service. You will need to have all your bags checked and leave large bags at the desk while you're in the library. See our Conditions of use for more information.

Somerville Reading Room

Is a supervised reading area for preservation materials. For access to this room, you'll need a reader's ticket from the Information Desk. You can access the Copy Centre from the Reading Room - this allows you to make direct arrangements for preservation materials to be copied.
