Feel the excitement and danger of early sea voyages to South Australia through stories of colonial families and their experiences. Meet some of the adventurous and quirky passengers who set sail for a home on the other side of the world.

First Thursday of each month at 11am.

Location: Meet level 1, opposite the Security cloaking desk

Note: Free, bookings essential

Join us for a stroll around the magnificent buildings that border the State Library. Uncover the stories of how this cluster of colonial institutions has grown to become the cultural heart of South Australia.

First Tuesday and Friday of each month at 11am. First Friday of each month has a 2pm offering also.

Booking into a tour

At the State Library we use Eventbrite for our event or program registrations. When you register for a tour, event or program, you will be asked to provide your name and email address. Eventbrite will then prompt you to create a password so that you can managed your bookings. For information about what happens to your contact details please view our privacy statement.
