Writing about art is an art form of its own. With the proliferation of digital media, there's been an explosion of outlets, voices and styles of art writing. In fact, anyone can publish their
thoughts - including artists themselves. In that climate, what is the role and value of more traditional art critics and journalists, and the weight of historical knowledge and context they
bring? Two award-winning art critics, both longlisted for the 2016 Walkley Book Award, share their thoughts on arts journalism, from criticism to biography.
