Join us for the co-operative inaugural seminar arranged by Gould Genealogy in partnership with the State Library and Genealogy SA.

One of the presenters is Dr Richard Reid, an expert in Irish history, immigration schemes and the First World War, is being flown to Adelaide for the event.

This full day seminar includes a range of speakers, tours of the State Library Family History service and an introduction to the State Library's digital collections.

About the presenters

Dr Richard Reid (ACT)

Richard brings a wealth of experience and expertise as an historian, author, tour guide and an in-demand speaker in a number of fields including:

  • Irish history & emigration to Australia
  • World War I
  • assisted emigration schemes.

Christeen Schoepf

Christeen's PhD research unpacks the lives and stories of the 500 women named on the unique and significant Cheer-Up Society Roll of Honour.

Sue Lear (Genealogy SA)

Sue is an enthusiastic member of the Genealogy SA Council. She has had a long term, passionate interest in tracing her Irish and Huguenot ancestry and making family connections around the world.

Anthony Laube (State Library of South Australia)

Anthony has decades of experience working at the State Library, particularly in the State Library's newspaper collections. He was involved in digitising and indexing of the State Library's Red Cross Bureau archive, a record of families seeking information about missing soldiers during World War i.
