Over the coming months, the State Library will undergo building works and service changes. We will keep you up to date on these announcements via our social media, website and newsletter.
The Self-service Hub, located on the State Library’s ground floor within the Spence Wing closed on Monday 3 April 2023 to prepare for future building works.
Customers are encouraged to continue accessing the State Library services by using public computers in the Research Library on the upper level of the Spence Wing.
Customers are reminded that the Research Library opens at 10am weekdays and 12pm on weekends, no food or drink (except for bottled water) can be consumed in the space and oversized bags are not allowed.
Customers with their own devices can continue to use them throughout the State Library. Alternative nearby locations to access public computers and the internet include Adelaide City Libraries in Rundle Mall, Hutt Street and North Adelaide.
The State Library Gallery, also located on the State Library’s ground floor within the Spence Wing closed on Monday 3 April 2023, to prepare for building works.
The State Library will continue to showcase new and ongoing exhibitions in key gallery spaces including the Mortlock Wing and Treasures Wall.
The State Library of South Australia will continue to provide customers with access to the Library’s extensive collection while building works are undertaken.
The State Library of South Australia has updated its opening hours, from Monday 3 April 2023.
The updates include opening the buildings one hour later on weekdays, and closing at 5pm daily, except for Tuesdays, which will see the State Library remain open until 7pm.
The Research Library will continue to open at 10am weekdays and 12pm on weekends, with closing times as per building times.
