With the further spread of COVID-19 the State Library has taken strict health and safety measures in the interests of public and staff safety.

  • The closure of all Group Meeting Rooms.
  • The use of hand sanitisation upon entry and exit.
  • The Cloak Room is closed. No food or drink is allowed into reference areas but you can bring in your bag.
  • The Service Desk has a social distance barrier between customers and staff.
  • ELIS sessions have been suspended and no conversation classes are in operation.
  • Donor visits have been suspended until further notice, but in the meantime you can make an online donor enquiry from Donate to our Collections.
  • No State Library tours are available.
  • Please observe 1.5 metre social distancing behaviour when in the State Library.
  • The State Library is open for now but this situation may change at any time depending on advice from the SA Government.

We have also suspended the 11am and 2pm tours of our buildings.
