This resource has been developed by the Education Team at the State Library and maps an overview of learning outcomes for students in the areas of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) and Information Literacy. The State Library, as a keeper of Australian stories, aligns strongly with these areas of the curriculum, enabling students to inquire, research and delve into the histories and stories of South Australia; to be informed by the past and influence decision making about the future.

This curriculum map informs our resource and program development, ensuring we align to the Australian Curriculum to meet the needs of educators and students, and cater for the growth of knowledge, skills and understandings. The Information Literacy skills and understandings have been informed by a range of research documents including a focus on the Australian Curriculum’s General Capabilities and HASS skills and concepts.
