highlights of the Antiphonal
Saint Jerome
The magnificent 13th century Italian Antiphonal is written on vellum and contains the music for the verses and responses proper to the services for the temporal cycle of the Christian church year from Advent to the finish of the octave for the Epiphany (ie. January 13). The beginning of each service is marked with a rich initial letter, painted and gilded.
