What is a satellite? What do they do? And why are there so many of them?

Join us at the State Library of South Australia, where a Space Communicator from the Australian Space Discovery Centre will explore these answers with you and more!

Learn about the many different types of satellites orbiting our planet, and discover some of the different jobs they do to help us every day. Attendees will have the opportunity to construct a paper satellite. What special job will your satellite do?

Recommended for ages 5 to 12.

Please only book tickets for participants, as caregivers will be seated separately.

So Many Satellites

All attendees are invited to explore the Out of This World Exhibition, a national touring exhibition developed and presented by the National Archives of Australia, in partnership with the State Library of South Australia. This exhibition is supported by the Australian Government's Visions of Australia program and the National Collecting Institutions Touring and Outreach Program, a program aiming to improve access to the national collections for all Australians.
