The State Library’s Research Library will reopen on Wednesday 1 July 2026, following a temporary closure for upgrade works.
We’re also pleased to welcome the City of Adelaide’s City Libraries – North Terrace, opening on Wednesday 1 July in its new home at the State Library. Both services will be co-located on Level 1 of the State Library’s Spence Wing, creating a shared space for research, learning and community use.
We look forward to welcoming visitors back to a refreshed space with a redesigned layout. While some upgrade works will continue over the coming weeks, we have reopened these important services as soon as possible to support our communities.
From Wednesday 1 July, new opening hours will apply across the State Library precinct, as follows:
